INTERMACH and SUBCON THAILAND 2009 Top 4.3 billion Baht!

UBM Asia (Thailand) Co Ltd. has proudly announced the success of INTERMACH 2009. 30,006 people attended the event and both Thai and international visitors were present. The 5-day show generated 4.3 billion Baht in business transactions prompting Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) to announce their confidence that Thai industry is back on the road to recovery. 3 billion Baht in orders and business transactions for the automotive, electronics and electrical parts industries were generated at SUBCON THIALND and over 2,041 business partnership were established via the special business match-making program.

Mr. Manu Leopairote, Chairman of UBM Asia (Thailand) Co Ltd revealed that the 5-day event was one the best international exhibitions in Asia, providing a complete showcase of hi-tech machinery that was unrivalled. Of the more than 30,000 people

in attendance most were high-quality business visitors. Estimated transactions over the 5 days were in the area of 1.3 billion Baht with much more coming from follow-up sales after the show.

Dr. Atchaka Sibunruang Brimble, Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment pointed out that SUBCON THAILAND 2009 is the only event for the huge subcontracting industry in Thailand. The event is co-organised by the Thailand Board of Investment and UBM Asia (Thailand). SUBCON THIALAND notched up 2,041 pairs of immediate business partnerships and 74% of business discussions were believed to be successful with further deals coming later. SUBCON THAILAND had 18,241 buyers and visitors and is understood to have created 3.02 billion Baht’s worth of business. The success of both INTERMACH and SUBCON THAILAND indicated that Thai industry is regaining strength and the increase in orders from oversea customers was particularly encouraging.

The event also emphasized how important INTERMACH has become to both Thai and Asian industry by helping create real business opportunities for SMEs and strengthening the overall Thai economy.
